Your information

Privacy Policy

Effective July 13, 2026. This policy explains what Clear Next Step collects, why we collect it, and the choices available to you.

Please leave personal details out of questions

Do not include names, addresses, account numbers, case numbers, or other identifying details. The question text and follow-up choices are used in your browser to produce structured guidance and are not saved to our database.

Information we collect

We record limited, non-identifying activity when someone chooses a topic or completes the question flow: the event type, a broad topic category, and the time. We do not save the question text with these events.

If a lawyer voluntarily joins the advertising interest list, we collect the submitted name, work email, firm, practice area, Florida county, package interest, and submission time.

How we use information

  • Operate, maintain, protect, and improve the service.
  • Understand which broad legal-information topics are useful to visitors.
  • Respond to lawyers who request information about future advertising.
  • Detect abuse, comply with law, and enforce our terms.

Service providers and disclosure

Hosting and infrastructure providers may process limited technical data needed to deliver and secure the website, such as IP address, device or browser information, and request logs. We may disclose information when legally required, to protect rights or safety, or as part of a business transfer. We do not sell the question text you enter.

Website analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand visits and general usage patterns, such as pages viewed, approximate location, device or browser type, and referral source. We do not intentionally send the text of your legal-information question, names, or contact details to Google Analytics. Google may use cookies or similar identifiers to provide this service. Learn more about how Google uses information from sites that use its services.

Retention and security

We keep collected information only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described above, legal obligations, and security. No internet service can promise absolute security, so please avoid submitting confidential or sensitive facts.

Children, outside links, and changes

The service is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13. Links to courts, agencies, lawyers, and other websites are governed by those sites’ own privacy practices. We may update this policy and will change the effective date when we do.

Your choices

You may choose not to submit a question or advertising-interest form. If you previously submitted lawyer-interest information and want it reviewed or deleted, reply through the business contact channel used in our correspondence.
